This year, Road To Innsmouth journey to different forests and woodlands within the UK to investigate high strangeness. This ongoing series will delve into various strange reports at different locations. In this episode Mat, Gareth and Jamie journey back to Boothland Wood where 9 years ago they recorded an EVP of someone humming a nursery rhyme at the same spot a family friend claimed to see the ghost of a small girl. Boothland Wood is 12.50 Acres of ancient woodland brimming with Hornbeam trees with there crooked trunks and serrated leaves.

  Black smoke rings floating in the sky have been seen for many years by many people all over the world, often discounted as coming from a bonfire or a battle re-enactment but can all these sightings really be explained so dismissively? Although sometimes there are seen as interchangeable 'monsters' of legend the Cynocephaly are quite distinct from those suffering from werewolfism or Lycanthropy. Nestled into the Brecon Beacons lies The Skirrid Inn a pub with a history dating back over 900 years and if the walls could talk they would be full of tales of death, murder and blood. The pub it's self is a beautiful look structure in a quiet area a few miles outside of Abergavenny. It's thick walls and roaring fireplaces and the hum of locals and holiday makers talking and laughing bely its horrific history. As would be expected from a building that has seen so much history and bloodshed rumours of hauntings and poltergeist activity abound. To placate some of these sprits and to ensure the patrons at the Skirrid Inn have a pleasant stay the landlord is said to put out the 'Devils Cup' or 'pwca cup' each night. The cup is full of ale and placed out each night to appease the spirits or maybe the Devil himself as an offering of good will and the next day some of the ale has gone and the spirits leave the pub alone for another night.   On a cold Snowy February 1855 a strange event occurred through both East and South Devon that is still often mentioned to this day, that event would become known as the Devil's footprints. After a night of heavy snowfall the areas around Exe Estuary woke to a strange sight, a series of hoof like foot prints could be seen they stretched for between some 40-100 miles crossing gardens and roof tops. The explanation for this if lore is to believed is that the residents of East and South Devon were visited by the devil that wintery night as he wandered through the county plotting some nefarious deeds no doubt and all that was left as the witness were his cloven hoof marks.   The hoof prints were traced over haystacks, through walls and even roofs this was certainly not the works of the local wildlife unless deer and horses can climb and pass through solid objects.   On October 4th 1967 a remarkable event took place in which the tiny an relatively unknow fishing village of Shag Harbour and its residents would be put on the world map once and for all. The incident drew enough attention to be investigated by both the civilian RCMP and Coast guard and military Canadian navy and air force. The story is as follows. Multiple residents of the tiny fishing community of Shag Harbour began to notice strange orange lights in the sky in the evening of the 4th (approx. 11.20pm Atlantic Daylight Time) this was reported by multiple witnesses who generally believed there were four noticeable lights.
