The Road To Innsmouth

  Between 1930 and 1934 naturalist William Beebe reported on a number of amazing discoveries he and inventor Otis Barton had made in Barton's Bathysphere. The Bathysphere was an interesting piece of technology, it was in essence a spherical unpowered deep sea submersible that was lowered in to the ocean and was capable of depths of  over 3,000ft (nearly 1km). A record that stood for 15 years. The Bathysphere made it possible for the naturalist to observe the deep sea creatures in there natural environment. This was as monumental moment as this was the first time this had been able to happen.  On these dives Beebe described at least 5 n

The UK has a very long history with spectral dogs. Known by many names be it devil dogs, he'll hounds, shucks, barghest, black dogs or dogs of the wild hunt. Nearly every country has their own for some they are a portent of imminent doom, for others they are a demonic force sent to scare and test their faith, some believe that the spirit of an evil person in life can come back as a spectral hound and to others they are a natural part of the psychic landscape of this very old land. There are tails from hundreds of years ago to the present and the descriptions are remarkably similar.  A creature known as 'Hairy Jack' a large black spectral dog was said by locals to haunt the roads and by-ways of Lincolnshire. On December 11th 2002 the Surrey police would starting their day much the same as any other however it would soon become a strange a bizarre day in their history one that would be reported widely in the media and interest in the incident would spark the curiosity of ghost hunters and forteans. The police received a call from a concerned member of the public reporting that they had just witnessed a car leaving the dual carriage way heading southbound to Guildford on the A3 and heading in to a ditch. The police were duly sent to investigate to reported crash site but despite the initial search were unable to find any evidence of a crash. However on a further search of the area a police officer located a crashed vehicle a few yards from the initial report of the accident. This was not a recent crash however the car was covered in undergrowth and the decomposing body of the driver was found inside (some reports state found 'near by' while others report that just a skeleton was foun

  The now legendary account of the Beast of Gévaudan is a fascinating tale set in the province of Gévaudan in France. The incident or incidents took place from 1764 to 1767 and described a possible werewolf, a very large wolf or unknown cryptid attacks. The contemporary accounts taken at the time descibe a very large animal or animals with large teeth and tails and wolf or dog like or a wolf/dog hybrid type animal. It had pointed ears and was able to take long strides with a thin face and a broad chest. It was brown in colour with black stripes or streaks on its back and may have had a white heart shap on its stomach. It had a notably longer tail than that of a wolf with a tuft of fur on the end. This has one of the largest deaths associated with an unknown animal attack on humans with estimates ranging from 60 to 500 deaths of men, women and children and 30 to 49 injuries with reportedly many victims partially eaten. The attacks covered some 50 square miles.  Gévaudan no longer exists

  An end to the mystery surrounding the three metal monoliths (image: @Atownreporter/twitter) that have been discovered recently with two in the US (Utah and California) and one in Romania. They have since all been removed. A group called the Most Famous Artist has claimed responsibility. The group is known for stunt art and pranks and it seems they felt in this most bizarre and terrible of years that people needed a little mystery to get them excited and talking and at the RTI offices we feel they were probably right.  We felt thus was some kind of art instalation but now it seems we have confirmation.   The being or beings known as the Stick man (Stick men) is a fairly new Phenomena within the realm of the paranormal or at least it only been reported in the recent past (the actual being(s) may well be much older). It has been reported all over the world with the US and UK having a large proportion of the sightings. There seem to be two major types of experiences that witnesses report. Both however descibe the being the same. The vary from 2-7 feet tall (there have been reports of some over 11 feet tall!) are a classic stick man (as a child would draw). They are are completely black in colour and cast no shadow and appear two-dimensional but whatever angle you see them from the look the same like the rotate so they always look face on. They never make any sound but seem to be busy with some kind of tasks. Can be seen on there own or in groups and sometimes have been seen wearing top hats!! They sometimes fade from view, sometimes blip out like they have teleported or something vanish

A photographer/drone pilot Ross Bernards (photo credit: Ross Bernards) revealed that he was at the Utah monolith when he saw it being removed by four men. It is unclear if they had anything to do with putting it up but the reason for removing it seemed clear. Too many people were visiting it and damaging a beautiful natural landscape and the only way to stop them was to make sure they didn't have a reason to go. A new mystery monolith has been discovered just a few days after the one found in Utah disappeared. News outlets are reporting that this new monolith strikes more than a passing resemblance to the one found by sheep counters in Utah only a week or so ago. This one appears to have scrawls all over its surface though.  At RTI we feel this must be some kind of unofficial art exhibit or prank but to what end we will see.
