The Skirrid Inn

Nestled into the Brecon Beacons lies The Skirrid Inn a pub with a history dating back over 900 years and if the walls could talk they would be full of tales of death, murder and blood. The pub it's self is a beautiful look structure in a quiet area a few miles outside of Abergavenny. It's thick walls and roaring fireplaces and the hum of locals and holiday makers talking and laughing bely its horrific history. As would be expected from a building that has seen so much history and bloodshed rumours of hauntings and poltergeist activity abound. To placate some of these sprits and to ensure the patrons at the Skirrid Inn have a pleasant stay the landlord is said to put out the 'Devils Cup' or 'pwca cup' each night. The cup is full of ale and placed out each night to appease the spirits or maybe the Devil himself as an offering of good will and the next day some of the ale has gone and the spirits leave the pub alone for another night. This ritual has been maintaine
