The Shag Harbour Incident

On October 4th 1967 a remarkable event took place in which the tiny an relatively unknow fishing village of Shag Harbour and its residents would be put on the world map once and for all. The incident drew enough attention to be investigated by both the civilian RCMP and Coast guard and military Canadian navy and air force. The story is as follows. Multiple residents of the tiny fishing community of Shag Harbour began to notice strange orange lights in the sky in the evening of the 4th (approx. 11.20pm Atlantic Daylight Time) this was reported by multiple witnesses who generally believed there were four noticeable lights. The lights were flashing in sequence and then without warning dived at a steep angle towards the waters surface. However the lights did not crash in to the water but instead hovered above the waters surface approximately half a mile off shore. At first believing they may have witnessed a plane crash out at sea RCMP Constable Ron O'Brien was contacted by Laurie Wi...

Tales of the Dog Headed Man

The legend of Cynocephaly or the Dog headed man is maybe less common than that of his more famous cousin the werewolf. However the stories of these people go back thousands of years and stretch entire continents. Described by both Christopher Columbus and Marco Polo and written about by Greek scholars are they truly just myth and legend or the musings of a traveller seeing a Baboon for the first time while visiting Africa? Or is there something more to this legend? Where are werewolves are people that change in to a wolf form be it through a curse, magic or misfortune the dog headed man was simply a man in all respects apart from the face he had a dog head. They did not change using magic or herbs or other such rituals but were a distinct species that live in tribes as families often separate but sometimes along sid...

A North Wales farmer has told the local press that he has lost 10 sheep since July from what he believes is a puma stalking his farm animals. He states that they are killed by a single distinctive bite to the neck and if the carcass is left more is taken away (presumably eaten by the same animal) over the next few days. The attacks were in the Beddgelert area of North Wales near Snowdonia. The exact location has been withheld due to fears hunters may try to go after the animal. The farmer has also said that a neighbour has had a ram killed and another neighbour (or possibly the same one as it us not stated) saw a large cat (about three times the size of a domestic cat) light brown in colour jump over a wall back in August.  This is not the first time this area of Wales has been subject to suspected big cat attacks as in 2015 the same area of Nantmor and Beddgelert. Where more sheep had been were lost (assume killed) and a witness reported seeing a mother puma with cubs! Area where ...
